Our orphans, adoption, and foster care ministry is located in Cary, NC.
OAFC was started by a few parishioners at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church who adopted children from orphanages in Eastern Europe and through the foster care system in the United States. Recognizing the unique and special needs of children who have experienced severe loss, trauma or neglect, the parishioners sought to provide a support network and resources for the families responding to God’s calling for adoption or foster care. We offer a pre/post adoption family mentor program, along with educational events and support groups. We seek to provide direct care to children in orphanages by collaborating with a hosting program to bring Orphans from Ukraine to the US for the summer, and mission trips to Orphanages in Central America.
